About Valley View UMC Day Care
Valley View Day Care Center is a non-profit day care center providing quality care for Valley View United Methodist Church members and the surrounding community for 25 years.
The mission of Valley View Day Care Center is to be a Christian witness to children and parents in word as well as action. Our goal is to provide the children with emotional, physical, spiritual and academic foundations that will enhance self esteem, confidence, and enthusiasm throughout their lives.
Are you looking for a well rounded child care program?
Look no further! We have it all here! Christian nurture and cultural values are shared with the children through stories, songs, prayers, educational activities and group play. The center is non-sectarian and no attempt will be made to prejudice a child against the faith of his/her parents. Prayers are said before meals and snacks. In our preschool classrooms, we work on the skills children need to enter kindergarten. The center provides nutritious, age- appropriate foods. We serve morning and afternoon snacks, and a hot lunch. Children are introduced to new foods, and taught good nutritional habits and table manners. The children have opportunities to play outdoors as well as in the large indoor play space. The following are included in our activity fee: Stretch-N-Grow, Spanish class and music. For an additional fee, your child may choose to participate in the Computer Explorers program and one week of Vacation Bible School.
What ages do we serve?
Valley View Day Care serves children 12 months (if walking alone) through school age. We have four classrooms and children are grouped by the following ages: 12 months to 2 ½ years; 2 years (by September 1) - 3 years; 3 years (by September 1) - 4 years; and 4 years (by September 1) - 5 years.
We have highly qualified staff!
Our staff members are selected for their education and experience in the field of child development and are caring, nurturing individuals who enjoy working with children. Most of our teachers have been with us for over three years, and four teachers have been with us even longer.
Hours of operation
Valley View Day Care Center is open from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, twelve months of the year. We follow the Shawnee Mission School District snow policy.
We are licensed
We are licensed Valley View Day Care Center is licensed by the State of Kansas Department of Health and Environment and keeps staff/child ratios as indicated by regulations. We are a member of we are members of the National Association of Child Care Professionals (NACCP) and National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Valley View UMC Day Care was established in 1984.
