You want the best for your inquisitive preschooler and we do, too!  Our non-profit weekday preschool program is committed to providing quality early childhood education in a warm loving Christian setting. We minister to the whole child by fostering the love of learning, social and emotional skill development while enveloping your child in God’s love.  Parenting class are also available such as “Becoming a Love and Logic Parent” to help navigate though these important.  A wide variety of family activities are also available through Valley View UMC during the year.

3- year old classes (before September 1st)

he three year old year is designed to help your child gain confidence and important independent skills along with social development within a framework of Christian nurturing. Special programs are planned throughout the year to supplement the regular curriculum. In addition, special music is offered starting in January with our music teacher.  Speech and hearing screening is also offered in the spring of the year.

Classes are offered on Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 am to 11:15am or 12:00 to 2:15pm.  An additional class is offered on Mondays and Wednesday s from 9:00am to 11:15 am. This class is designed for families who have another child enrolled in the 4’s am class first and then available to all if space is available.  The adult to child ration is 1:10 with aids are available to help the teacher on a regular basis.


4 year old classes
(before September 1st)
Curriculum consist of Christian nurture, social and emotional development, kindergarten readiness, along with special music and motor development skill classes.  Activities such as Show and Tell bolster student’s confidence along with many other activities that develop their love of learning.  Special programs are offered throughout the year to enhance the curriculum.  Speech, hearing and vision screenings are offered in the fall to ensure school readiness. One field trip is planned each spring, to Theater for Young America, complete with a ride on the big yellow school bus. 

Each Wednesday Computer Tots is offered for an extra fee. Children go in small groups of 4 for a 30 minute sessions. The session is designed to teach basics computer skill that allows your child to navigate a computer safely.

Spanish classes are offered each Friday by a Spanish and English teacher. Through fun songs, games and activities the children are exposed to the basic Spanish vocabulary. Families may sign up for classes monthly for a nominal fee.

Four’s classes are held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:55am to 11:25am or 12:15pm to 2:45pm.  Adult to child ration is 1:12 with an aide available to help in the classroom.


5 year olds (before October 1st)
We offer two Pre-K classes for children who have an early fall fifth birthday in the morning and for those who have turned five during the preceding spring or summer we suggest the afternoon class.  These classes emphasize social and emotional growth along with school readiness.  Music and motor development classes are offered weekly, along with Computer Tots and Spanish class. Activities are designed to enhance your child’s confidence and skills in preparation for kindergarten.

Morning Pre-K classes are held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:55am to 11:25 pm.  Afternoon Pre-K classes are held Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 12:15pm to 2:45pm. The adult to child ration is 1:8 with a full time aide.


Conferences
Parent teacher conferences are held, for all children, each fall so that the parents and teacher get to know each other better, as well as set goals for their child for that year.  A second conference is held each spring where the teacher shares the progress your child has made.  A portfolio has been kept with samples of your child’s work, along with many photos that have been taken during the school year.

Extended Day
An additional time for children to bring their lunch and stay and play with their friends are available Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings starting at 9:30 am. Extended Day is also available all five afternoons until 2:30 pm. The afternoon children have a short rest time of approximately 30 minutes. The children are given opportunities to play games, ride tricycles, balance beams, balls, art projects and just have fun outdoor and indoor. Families enroll in extended day on a monthly base with a $20.00 per day deposit. The monthly fee runs between $59. to $50. per month. Occasional days are available on a substitute bases for $16.00 per day.
