Marcy Loper Scholarship Fund

It’s been over 10 years since that terrible day in 1999 when an automobile accident took the life of Marcy Loper. It’s hard to believe it has been that long since Ms. Marcy spent her afternoons with our Day Care children.
Because of her love of the children of Valley View and in an effort to make good of a terrible tragedy her mother, Caren Loper, former Valley View United Methodist Church organist, established a memorial scholarship. The Marcy Loper Memorial Scholarship fund is administered by the Day Care board and Day Care director to help Valley View UMC Weekday Program families having difficulty paying tuition or staff members pursuing an education in early childhood development. To date, we have helped almost seventy five families and several staff members.
Each year, in order to continue the work of this scholarship fund, we invite individuals who would like to assist us in maintaining the work of this memorial to make a contribution. If you would like to contribute to the scholarship fund, please make checks payable to Valley View UMC Day Care and designate it for the Miss Marcy Scholarship Fund.
