ways to serve
Caring For Kids
On Tuesday, August 29, Pawnee Elementary and Valley View were recognized as one of two outstanding Caring for Kids partnerships in the Kansas City area! There are 7 school districts and 106 schools included in the Caring for Kids network. It is exciting to be recognized for our efforts.
As we begin this school year, there are ongoing opportunities to serve. We need financial support to provide food for students and to provide treats for teachers on in-service days. We need volunteers to help students, a coach for boys track, and work on various in-school projects. The school also needs used yoga mats, children’s book donations, children’s clothing and shoes, and outdoor games: Jenga, bean bag toss, and ladder toss. If you can assist, please contact Megan Williams at 681-1502 or email@example.com
Cross-Lines Christmas Store
The months of September and October
Our annual Cross-Lines Christmas Store Toy Collection will take place during the months of September/October. A Christmas Tree will be set up in the Servant Café area and will have tags hanging on it with toy suggestions. Take a tag and buy the gift and then return it under the tree anytime in September/October. Cross-Lines is a non-profit social service agency in Kansas City, KS that provides people affected by poverty with basic opportunities that encourage self-confidence and self-sufficiency. They provide a Christmas Store each year for their clients to ‘shop’ for Christmas gifts for their family.
